Weiss Fund

The Weiss Fund for Research in Development Economics at the University of Chicago would like to invite talented students with a substantialinterest in development economics to apply to the WeissFund Predoctoral Fellowship.This Weiss Fund Predoctoral Fellowship supports predoctoral positions at leading development economics institutions and seeks to expand the representation of solid researchers who have graduated from institutions in low and lower-middle-income countries.We seek to identify the highest-ranked student with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related social science,emphasizing quantitative analysis. We are interested in candidates from the current graduating class of 2022 and graduates from the classes of 2021 and 2020. Successful candidates will receive a recommendation from the Weiss Fund forsome of the most competitive predoctoral programs in the United States, giving finalists a rare endorsement in their application process. The list of open and qualifying Weiss Fund institutions and positions will be shared with successful applicants. Finalistswill also be featured on the Weiss Fund website,a unique platform to showcase their work and interest in academia and economics.
