Please note that Alumni of U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs cannot apply.Please contact Mrs. Rania Elsayed, Senior Cultural Affairs Specialist (copied on this email), if you would like us to arrange an information session for Scholars or the Undergraduate students on the below open opportunities or other Exchange opportunities offered by the US Embassy in Cairo.Exchange Opportunity for Scholars:Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) Scholars Program:Brief Overview:Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars are intensive post-graduate level academic programs whose purpose is to provide foreign university faculty and other scholars the opportunity to deepen their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions. The ultimate goal of the Institutes is to strengthen curricula and to enhance the quality of teaching about the United States in academic institutions abroad. Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars will take place at various colleges, universities, and academic institutions throughout the United States over the course of six weeks beginning in or after June 2022. The program is offered in 6 different themes;The Institute on American Culture and ValuesThe Institute on Journalism and MediaThe Institute on Religious Pluralism in the United StatesThe Institute on U.S. Economics and BusinessThe Institute on U.S. Foreign PolicyThe Institute on Workforce DevelopmentApplication deadline: January 9 , 2022Please find attached the program announcement that includes the application link and eligibility criteriaExchange Opportunities for Undergraduate Students:Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) Student LeadersBrief Overview:Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Student Leaders are intensive five-to-six-week academic programs designed for foreign undergraduate student leaders to improve their understanding of the United States while simultaneously enhancing their leadership skills. Each institute includes approximately 20 participants from selected countries.The Institutes consist of a four-week academic residency consisting of interactive classroom activities, seminar discussions, readings, group presentations, and lectures. Site visits, leadership development, cultural activities, and community service complement the coursework and academic sessions. If conditions allow, the Institute will include a one-week integrated study tour in the United States. The program is offered in 2 different themes;A- Religious PluralismB- Entrepreneurship and Economic DevelopmentApplication deadline: December 28, 2021Please find attached the program announcement that includes the application link and eligibility criteriaThe Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD)Brief Overview:The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) provides a diverse group of emerging student leaders with a scholarship for one semester of non-degree academic study at a U.S. college or university. All participants will be enrolled in full-time, non-degree, undergraduate coursework chosen from their host institution’s existing curriculum. Participants will be required to take one, 3-credit U.S. studies course to enhance their understanding of the United States. Participants will live in campus housing facilities with American peers and will be required to participate in twenty hours of community service. There will also be a virtual arrival orientation and an in-person end-of-program workshop. Undergraduate students from all fields of study are encouraged to apply. The program is open to all, regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
