Falling Walls Lab 2023 Cairo

Falling Walls Lab 2023 Cairo is calling all students and early-career professionals to showcase their innovative idea.

Last Year’s Falling Wall Lab took place at the DAAD-Regional Office Cairo. Out of a total of 7 ideas that have been presented by our “Labsters” during the event, Mr Moustafa Abdelwahap managed to win the jury for his innovation of “Breaking the Wall of Artificial Intelligence in Health”. Moustafa problematised the lack of reliable labelled patient data in medical institutions. Thus, he developed a “Data Annotation Platform” based on an artificial intelligence which assists in the labelling process and is able to improve itself using machine learning. This idea can have a positive impact on the effective administration of patient data in the future. By successfully competing against his 6 fellow Labsters, Moustafa was able to get the opportunity to participate in the Falling Walls Science Summit 2022 which took place from 7th until 9th November 2022 in Berlin.

We are happy to announce that Students and early-career professionals can now also apply for Falling Walls Lab 2023 till June 15, 2023, to present their innovative ideas – in 3 minutes each. You can also check our facebook post here.

Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition, networking forum, and steppingstone that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas both globally and locally. Selected participants are given the opportunity to present their solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time to peers, a high-calibre jury. The first-place winner of the Lab qualifies for the global finale in Berlin on 7 November 2023 and wins a ticket to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit, where they get to interact and network with the world’s movers and shakers of science, business, and policymaking. Falling Wall Lab 2023 Cairo (the presentations) will take place on July 11, 2023, at Marriott Hotel, Zamalek.

We ask you kindly to share this world-class competition and event with your students, advisors, alumni, and departments noting that the deadline for receiving applications is 15 June 2023. For further information and to apply, please visit www.falling-walls.com/lab
